Recovery center for homeless men

Homelessness became a common phenomenon in our society, one that people got used to. We pass by homeless people on the street, near the stores, not really paying attention to them, and when we do occasionally take notice of a person sitting behind a bush, dressed in rags, surrounded by a cluster of junk, we end up blaming him or her for a lifestyle they lead. While it is often true, we miss an important point - there's a life, a destiny behind every person, no matter how deep they hit the rock bottom. Everyone deserves a chance to start anew, to return back to normal, to have family restored and hope returned. That's why the recovery center for homeless men is such an important place, because here men not only can have a place to sleep and food to eat, but they go though re-socialization process and return back to society fully restored.

"Homelessness mindset" explains the existence of cases when a person goes homeless for many years, so mere food and bed will not bring adequate solution to the problem. We are addressing the initial causes that led every individual to become homeless. Right now there are only 2 such centers in our city Kherson, Ukraine, including our center, and both are operated and maintained by non-profit organizations without governmental support, so your help is crucial in reaching out to the homeless people and restoring their lives back to normal.

We are renting two small houses for the needs of our recovery center for homeless men, and they are both fully packed. Currently we are raising funds to buy a small farm where  men from both houses will be brought together. This farm has 5 acres of land, building for housing the men and numerous barns for livestock. Here men will live, undergo the process of recovery and re-socialization and also work by helping raise livestock. This part is also very important because the profits from raising and selling livestock will not only support the center itself, but also enable us to help needy families, our women's transitional house, elderly people and many others who turn to us for help. The farm's price is $60,000 and we already have $40,000. Please, join us in making this project happen.
