Working with kids for more than 4 years, we've encountered different problems and challenges. One of such problems we met with was single moms with kids who for various reasons ended up homeless, on the streets. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian government does not provide any temporary shelters for this category, and children are left at the mercy of random well-wishers or fall into the hands of people who abuse them. Often it is the fault of the women themselves, but looking into the eyes of these precious kids, we realized that we just can't walk away, but had to do something.

Our goal was to establish a transitional house for these women where they will undergo several phases of reintroduction back to society, including recovery of identification documents, enrollment of children in school and younger kids in childcare, help with medical treatment both for women and the children, and, most importantly,  where they will truly dedicate their lives to God: have regular Bible study, prayers, attend all church services, receive Christian counseling and also give the opportunity to develop necessary work skills that will enable these women to eventually find jobs and become self-reliable. And, of course, children will have a safe and nurturing environment, with a playroom, full meals, and warm beds.

In the fall of 2020 this project was launched with the help of our generous supporters, and now one family after another fill the rooms of this transition house and many children can finally smile without fear of going hungry or not knowing where they will sleep tomorrow.
